You and YouTube

It’s quite enteraining and good to know “Digital Ethnography” when I watched the video “An Anthropological Introduction to YouTube” by Dr. Michael Wesch and the Digital Ethnography Working Group. The video was presented at the Library of Congress, June 23rd 2008.

I’ve got an idea of the concepts, such as “context collapse”, “mediated culture”, “identity”, “self awareness”, “participant observation”, “authenticity”, “community”, etc.

Indeed, I didn’t quite understand why people like to put some “talking-to-self” videos on the web, which are nonsense, no information cross, or help learning? I re-think it and had a bit clue now.
